Decoration: The title in a gorgeous cartouche in shape a frame at the top of which is the double monogram of Peter I and Anna Ioannovna, on both sides are construction attributes, boats, sailing vessels.
Territory: The south shore of Ladoga, from the Neva’s head up to the mouth of Volkhov River.
Shown: The highways (dotted), the canal along southern shore of Ladoga, Schlisselburg Fortress, settlements along the coast and along Volkhov R. Swamped territory is thinly populated. The map is furnished with 13 construction drafts along the edges of the leaf. Plan of the locks by Schlisselburg, plans and profiles of different water-canals that feed the canal, profiles of Ladoga canal, a draft of obelisk dedicated to Empress Anne by the lock near Schlisselburg. In the explication the years of the beginning (1718) and finishing (1730) of the canal’s construction are mentioned. Its length is 104 versts, width is 10 sazhens, depth is 8 feet.
Annotation: The state draft in the honour of finishing Ladoga canal’s construction, for consideration of Anna Ioannovna. The necessity of a roundabout canal became evident after “holey ships” appeared on Ladoga. The canal was unveiled only in 1731.
